American tourists are more than eager to go on long-awaited holidays now that summer has here and the U.S. re-entry restrictions are behind us. Due to recently loosened entrance procedures and a flurry of new flights that make it simple to reach the islands, the Bahamas is certain to be one of the most popular travel destinations this year.

The archipelago, which spans 100,000 square miles of some of the world's clearest ocean waters, is a perennial favorite among travelers seeking idyllic weather, tropical landscapes, award-winning beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and unspoiled wildlife encounters, as well as the warm and vibrant Caribbean culture of the islands.

What's new in The Bahamas for July is as follows:

The Bahamas reduces entry requirements — Beginning on June 19, all foreign visitors to The Bahamas will no longer need a travel health visa, regardless of their level of immunization. The Honourable I. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, made the news in June. He added, "We recognise that the Travel Health Visa was a hardship for travelers, and we are glad to be able to withdraw it."

Vaccinated arrivals are no longer subject to testing requirements, however all unvaccinated tourists two years of age and older must still provide documentation of a negative PCR or antigen test performed within three days (72 hours) before departure for The Bahamas.

Orlando to Grand Bahama Route Relaunched by BahamasAir— With twice-weekly nonstop flights between Orlando and Freeport from June 30 through September 10, 2022, national carrier BahamasAir is making it very simple and economical to go to Grand Bahama Island. Additionally, first roundtrip prices begin at $297.

Boating Flings Are in Full Swing — The Bahamas Tourist Office will conduct a number of thrilling Boating Flings this summer, guiding boaters over the Gulf Stream and into the crystal-clear seas of the Bahamas. Participants in the event will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, enjoy delectable Bahamian food, and participate in real cultural experiences around the islands.

Events and Festivals Are Back — The famous Junkanoo Summer Festival in Nassau, which takes place every Saturday from July 2 to 30, is also returning this year. It is one of the Caribbean's most exuberant and vibrant carnival events. The Groombay Summer Festival on Grand Bahama will also be back, taking place every Thursday from July 7 to 28. The Blue Project Foundation will benefit from the proceeds of the Atlantis Paradise Island Music Series, which will feature live performances from well-known musicians like Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Ashanti, five-time Grammy nominee Robin Thicke, Grammy, ACM, CMA, and AMA Award-winning group Little Big Town, and Grammy Award winner Sheryl Crow.

The Disney Wish departs for the Bahamas — On July 14, the Disney Wish, the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, will depart from Port Canaveral for the first time. After that, it will transport passengers on three- and four-night cruises to The Bahamas, stopping at Disney's own island of Castaway Cay, which is close to Great Abaco.
